Day 1 – Arrival Deer Lake, NL
Welcome to Newfoundland! Make your way to the hotel for a free evening.

Day 2 – Deer Lake to Cow Head
Depart for Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with visits to the Discovery Centre and Broom Point Fishing Premises. Travel by water taxi from Woody Point to Norris Point on way to Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, offering a great view of Bonne Bay and the surrounding mountains. In the evening, join your fellow travelers at the WestWorld Tours Welcome Dinner, where you’ll enjoy a delicious meal and have the chance to get to know others in your group. Afterward, the evening continues with a special performance at the Nurse Myra Bennett Centre for the Performing Arts, showcasing local talent and culture.

Day 3 - Cow Head to Plum Point
Today, embark on a journey filled with rich history, scenic views, and cultural experiences. Your first stop is Port au Choix National Historic Site. This important archaeological site reveals the deep history of the area, showcasing the cultures that have inhabited this region, from the indigenous peoples to early European settlers. It’s a fascinating place to learn about the historical significance of the land. Next, visit the Point Riche Lighthouse, where you’ll enjoy stunning coastal views. The lighthouse offers a beautiful vantage point of the surrounding landscape, with the rugged shoreline and the vast ocean stretching beyond. Continue your exploration with a visit to the French Rooms Cultural Centre, a hub for local culture, where you can explore exhibits and learn about the region’s French heritage and traditional fishing methods once used by the French settlers in the area. This site provides insight into the early European presence in Newfoundland and their connection to the sea. It’s a great spot to immerse yourself in the history and stories that have shaped the community. Then, head to the French Ovens and take in a demonstration of firing up a reconstructed French bread oven and taste freshly baked bread with local jams! Finally, celebrate the day with a traditional Newfoundland “Mug Up”.

Day 4 - Plum Point to L'Anse-au-Clair
Ride the morning ferry through Iceberg Alley making way to Labrador, with an opportunity to marvel at the sight of majestic icebergs and breaching whales. Arriving, your first stop is Point Amour Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada. Standing tall against the rugged landscape, offering panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and the expansive sea. If you’re up to the challenge, climb the 122 steps to the top of this castle-like structure! It’s an iconic site with a rich history, making it a perfect place to explore. Next, visit Red Bay National Historic Site, World Whaling Capital, A.D.1550-1600. At the Visitor Centre, experienced guides will interpret the Basque whaling activity in the area during the 16th century, providing a fascinating look into the region’s early maritime history. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner with your fellow travellers, a perfect way to unwind after a day full of exploration and awe-inspiring sights.

Day 5 – L'Anse-au-Clair to St. Anthony
Bid farewell to Labrador and set sail to Newfoundland onboard the ferry. Upon arrival, board the coach and head north, with a stop in the quaint community of Flower’s Cove home to Flower’s Island Lighthouse, the century-old St. Barnabas (Sealskin Boot) Church. Here, explore the ancient Thrombolites, dating back 600 million to 3.5 billion years. Continue your journey to the picturesque fishing village of St. Anthony, where you’ll spend two nights. This evening, savour a Viking Feast and enjoy lively entertainment while dining in a replica of Leif the Lucky’s home!

Day 6 – St. Anthony
Explore the historic L'Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the remains of a Viking settlement provide a fascinating glimpse into Norse exploration of North America. Discover reconstructed Viking dwellings and learn about the daily life of the Norse people who lived here over a thousand years ago. Then, visit the Grenfell properties, which honor the legacy of Dr. Wilfred Grenfell, a pioneering medical missionary who dedicated his life to improving healthcare in Northern Newfoundland and Labrador. Explore his former residence and museum, where you can learn about his groundbreaking work in the region and the lasting impact he made on the local communities.

Day 7 – St. Anthony to Rocky Harbour
Departing St. Anthony, explore the quaint community of Daniel’s Harbour, home to notable sites like the Nurse Myra Bennett House. Nurse Myra’s home was built in 1921 by her husband Angus Bennett and declared a Newfoundland Heritage structure in 1999. Myra’s home is significant because it served as the walk-in nursing clinic and hospital for over 200 miles of coastline. Providing essential medical care to the residents of the coast, many of whom lived in isolated communities. The Bennett House clinic was operational for over 50 years and pays tribute to the dedicated healthcare professionals who served the region. Next, head to Arches Provincial Park to witness a stunning natural rock archway, sculpted over millennia by tidal forces. Finally, arrive in Rocky Harbour, where you'll check into your hotel for a relaxing two-night stay

Day 8 – Rocky Harbour
A relaxing day to explore the area on your own. Visit the local craft shops and restaurants of Rocky Harbour or get out and explore. You might enjoy a boat tour on Western Brook Pond, a landlocked fjord carved by glaciers, and home to dramatic cliffs, plenty of waterfalls, and a serene lake. It offers a unique and awe-inspiring natural experience that you won't want to miss when exploring the rugged beauty of Newfoundland's west coast. This evening, join your fellow travellers for dinner and a lively night of entertainment. Prepare to tap your toes and sing along as a talented band of local musicians brings the spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador to life, performing traditional songs at the popular Anchors Aweigh Show. It promises to be an evening filled with food, fun, music, and a celebration of the island’s vibrant cultural heritage!

Day 9 – Rocky Harbour to Gander
This morning, depart for Grand Falls-Windsor, where you'll visit the Salmonid Interpretation Centre. This fantastic site offers a unique opportunity to observe Atlantic salmon as they migrate to their spawning grounds, showcasing the incredible natural life cycle of these fish. Next, continue your journey to Gander, often referred to as the "Crossroads of the World" due to its pivotal role in aviation history since the 1930s. Visit the Atlantic Aviation Museum, where you’ll learn about Gander’s significant contribution to air travel and its role during both World Wars and the early days of transatlantic flights.

Day 10 – Gander to Clarenville
At Boyd’s Cove visit the Beothuk Interpretation Centre, tour the centre where exhibits and artifacts foster an appreciation for this unique, and now vanished culture. In Twillingate visit the Prime Berth Historic Fishing Village, learn the history and culture of the area by visiting this living history museum, and then on to Long Point Lighthouse built in 1876. Depart Twillingate for Clarenville and overnight. Stopping en-route at Gambo, the birthplace of Joseph R. Smallwood, the first Premier of the province and one of the original “Fathers of Confederation”. Our stop includes Joey’s Lookout.

Day 11 – Clarenville
Today, continue your journey to Trinity and Bonavista, two historic towns rich in heritage and culture. Most of Trinity is designated as a national heritage district, and there are several provincial historic sites to explore, including Hiscock House Provincial Historic Site, Lester Garland Premises Provincial Historic Site, Lester Garland House/Wessex Learning Centre, and St. Paul’s Anglican Church. While in Trinity stop by the Green Family Forge Blacksmith Museum, and the Trinity Museum and Archives as well as the Trinity Interpretation Centre. Next, travel back in time to the voyage of John Cabot, who sailed from England to Newfoundland, landing at Cape Bonavista in 1497. One of the highlights of the area is the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site, beautifully restored to its original 1843 condition. Other stops include the monument to John Cabot located near the lighthouse, Ryan Premises National Historic Site – which includes the Bonavista Museum and the Dungeon Provincial Park, a collapsed sea cave. To cap off the day, enjoy a special treat—an authentic Newfoundland Screech In, where you'll participate in the traditional ceremony, a fun and memorable way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Day 12 – Clarenville to St. John's
Travel to St. John’s, the capital city, on the way visit Heart’s Content Cable station. Over 150 years ago, the first successful transatlantic telegraph cable was landed at Heart's Content, changing the way we communicate. This little Newfoundland town leaped into the history books and remained a global communications hub for over a century. The cable station is a time capsule of the communications technology that connected us all right up to the 1960s.This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the city including Signal Hill National Historic Site, Government House, Anglican Cathedral, and the Cape Spear National Historical Site.

Day 13 – St. John's
Depart St. John’s this morning for a scenic boat tour of the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, a stunning area composed of four small islands. This reserve is one of nature's greatest wonders, home to hundreds of thousands of seabirds that come to nest and raise their young. As you cruise through the waters, you may also spot humpback and Minke whales as they frequent the area, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of an iceberg! In the evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a WestWorld Tours Farewell Dinner, a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your journey and celebrate the memories made along the way.

Day 14 – Depart St. John's
Sadly, all good things must come to an end, make your way to the airport for your departure flight home.

Trinity
Trinity is a small town located on Trinity Bay in Newfoundland and Labrador. The town contains a number of buildings recognized as Registered Heritage Structures by the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Long Point Lighthouse
More than 300 feet above sea level, this is a lookout point where thousands of visitors every year enjoy the panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean with the possibility of viewing icebergs, whales, seals and sea birds.

Arches Provincial Park
These arches were carved from the rock by thousands of years of crashing ocean waves. There was once a fourth arch but constant erosion eventually led to its collapse. Inevitably, time and tide will do the same to the remaining three.

Grenfell House
Built between 1909 and 1910 the Grenfell House was the home of Dr. Grenfell, his wife and their three children. The house has seen many changes throughout its history with rooms and chimneys being added and taken away.

Salmonid Interpretation Centre
