These are busy tours that feature a lot of moving around. Walking tours of cities are leisurely but you should be prepared to be on your feet for several hours. May include walking on uneven surfaces and steps, including boarding the coach.

Embark on a 16-day journey to the Southern states of Texas & Louisiana. Day 1 – Home City to Houston, TX

Fly from your home city to Houston. Transport to your downtown hotel where the rest of the day is free.

Day 2 – Houston

This morning is free for you to explore Houston’s downtown core before heading out to the Lone Star Aviation Museum. In the afternoon we visit the famous NASA Space Center. Experience a guided tour of the facilities and see flown spacecraft such as Apollo 17, SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket, see actual moon rocks in the Starship Gallery and so much more. Join your fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner this evening.

Day 3 – Houston to Lafayette, LA

This morning we depart Houston for Lafayette, Louisiana – known as the ‘Happiest City in America’! Enjoy a free afternoon before embarking on a Cajun Food Tour. Sample the fabulous Cajun food that makes Louisiana so unique. Expect to taste many Cajun originals like boudin, king cake, gumbo, crawfish, fried shrimp, cracklin’ and more!

Day 4 – Lafayette

Today you will get the full Cajun experience! Start with a guided tour of the Historic Vermilionville Village, a living museum of the history, culture and natural resources of the Native Americans, Acadians, Creoles, and peoples of African dissent in the Attakapas region through the end of the 1800s. After an included Cajun lunch, head to a dance studio to learn some Cajun dance moves before touring a Handmade Accordion Factory. After freshening up at the hotel, we have an included Cajun dinner which will have live music where you can put your dance lessons to use!

Day 5 – Lafayette to New Orleans

Depart Lafayette to New Orleans. On the way we stop at the Tabasco Brand Factory.  We will tour the factory to learn about the history as well as the process of making Tabasco Sauce. After the tour we partake in a Cajun Culinary Experience where we sample 6 local tastings from the Acadiana Region along with other favourite Tabasco drinks and food. Later, relax on a guided Jungle Gardens Tour that showcases snowy white egrets, black bears, muskrats, armadillos, alligators, old oaks, magnificent bamboo, and more. Arriving at our New Orleans hotel, steps away from the French quarter, the rest of the day is spent at leisure.

Day 6 – New Orleans

This morning we depart for Houmas House, the Crown Jewel of Louisiana’s River Road. Enjoy a guided tour of the mansion which offers a glimpse of plantation life and a self-guided tour of the plantations 38-acre grounds that contains formal gardens, walking paths and sitting nooks. There will also be an included buffet lunch at the café. The afternoon is spent at leisure.

Day 7 – New Orleans

Departing New Orleans, enter the marshland of Honey Island Swamp, considered to be one of the least-altered river swamps in the USA, on this Swamp Tour. Glide through gator territory on a flat-bottomed boat and hear all about the swamp and its natural inhabitants from local experts. Head back into New Orleans for a free afternoon.

Day 8 – New Orleans

This morning we will visit the New Orleans School of Cooking where your lunch will be included. You will be taught the basics of Louisiana cooking in a way you’ll never forget. In the afternoon enjoy a City Tour of New Orleans before our evening dinner cruise onboard the Creole Queen’s Jazz Cruise.

Day 9 – New Orleans and Embarkation Day

After checking out of your hotel, we will Visit Mardi Gras World. Learn Mardi Gras history and culture, watch artists and sculptors create majestic floats, and take home a Mardi Gras experience you’ll never forget. In the afternoon we will board the Norwegian Breakaway, our home for the next seven nights.

Day 10 – At Sea

Day is spent at sea.

Day 11 – Costa Maya, Mexico

This coastal paradise in the Yucatan features stunning beaches with soft sand and blue skies.

Day 12 – Harvest Caye, Belize

Belize is ideal for eco-tourism. With diverse ecology consisting of jungles, rainforests, swamps, coral reefs and so on, you will find solace and adventure in Harvest Caye’s stunning landscape.

Day 13 – Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Beautiful and unspoiled, Roatan is a peaceful, eco-tourist’s dream, just 30 miles off the coast of Honduras. Teeming with marine life and home to some of the best pillar coral in the Caribbean, the beauty of Tabyana Beach is always a sight to see.

Day 14 – Cozumel, Mexico

The island of Cozumel off the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula continues to be known for its fantastic fishing, snorkeling, and diving opportunities. And despite the growth of tourism in recent years, the island and its only town, San Miguel, retain much of their original warmth and charm.

Day 15 – At Sea

Day is spent at sea.

Day 16 – New Orleans to Home City

This morning we disembark and head to the airport where we say goodbye to all our newfound friends.

For over 30 years Martin Accordions has built all hand-made, single row, diatonic accordions for musicians around the world. Professionals and beginners alike rely on our squeezeboxes night after night to provide the sweet, rich sound that Cajun and Zydeco is known for. TABASCO Cajun Culinary Experience

Food is one of the greatest ways to sample an area’s culture. In the Culinary Course, you are able to get a feel for what Louisiana and TABASCO Pepper Sauce are all about. The course instructors are knowledgeable about our area’s history, and are able to connect that history to the food as you sample 6 local tastings from the Acadiana Region, along with a TABASCO Bloody Mary flight and TABASCO mash tasting.

Jungle Gardens Tour

Jungle Gardens offers wonderful attractions that will appeal to nature lovers, bird watchers and any visitor interested in experiencing the beauty of nature and abundant wildlife in a pristine, tranquil setting.

Houmas House Plantation & Grounds

Houmas House Estate and Gardens is the Crown Jewel of Louisiana's River Road! Guided mansion tours offer a glimpse of plantation life. Guides in period dress use the artifacts, furniture, artwork and stories of past owners to explain how this manor home grew into the grand estate it is today. Thirty-eight acres of formal gardens provide a leisurely self-guided tour with walking paths and sitting nooks throughout.

Honey Island Swamp Tour

Take a New Orleans swamp tour of the famous Honey Island Swamp. You’ll glide through gator territory on a flat-bottomed boat and hear all about the swamp and its natural inhabitants from our local, expert captains. You’ll have the chance to see alligators, wild boar, raccoons, snakes, owls, egrets, and more – all in their natural habitat, and just a few feet from your boat!

Creole Queens Dinner & Jazz Cruise

Step back into the glamour and romance of the riverboat era with a cruise aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen! Experience the lively sounds of traditional New Orleans music while enjoying a lavish Creole Buffet in our elegantly appointed dining room. After dinner, and maybe a little dancing, enjoy a classic New Orleans cocktail and sweet Mississippi River breezes on our promenade deck as the city skyline slips by under a canopy of stars. Mardi Gras World & Mask Making

See a special side of Mardi Gras that no one else gets to see! Enjoy a 15 minute movie, a slice of local favorite, Gambino’s King Cake, and a tour through the working warehouse were the artists make over 80 percent of the Mardi Gras props, floats and fun. One of the Mardi Gras World certified artists will lead you through designing your very own Mardi Gras mask providing all of the magic you need to create your masterpiece including a premium felt backed mask, glitter, feathers and more. Be sure to bring your camera and take advantage of our many photo ops, including trying on float rider costumes!
