Day 3 – Washington

The morning is free to explore some of the sights on your own.  The White House, Lafayette Square and the US Treasury building are all within walking distance of our hotel. In 1912, the mayor of Tokyo gifted Washington, DC 3000 cherry blossom trees thus was the beginning of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. The remainder of the day and into the evening will be spent at the Petalpalooza Festival. This annual party at Yards Park features live music on multiple stages, family-friendly activities, a beer garden, and art installations, and ends with a spectacular fireworks display.

Day 4 – Washington

Today is all about the world-renowned Smithsonian Museums.  It will be hard to choose which ones to visit.  Will it be the National Air & Space Museum, the National Museum of American History or the National Museum of Natural History and don’t forget the National Gallery of Art.  Experience any of these incredible museums at your own pace.

The Baltimore & Ohio Railway was founded in 1827, and it helped shape the nation through invention, innovation, and ingenuity.

Day 6 – Washington to Philadelphia

A free morning to take in any last-minute sightseeing before leaving Washington, DC.  Before we arrive in Philadelphia, take in a guided tour of the B & O Railway Museum in Baltimore. A full affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and the birthplace of American Railroading, it is home to the oldest, most comprehensive collection of railroad artifacts in the Western Hemisphere. The Baltimore & Ohio Railway was founded in 1827, and it helped shape the nation through invention, innovation, and ingenuity.

Day 7 – Philadelphia

This morning, join a local guide on a walking tour of the Independence National Historic Park.  Your guide will explain the rich history of Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and many other historical landmarks. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Independence Hall, the Birthplace of the United States. Where, in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed by the Founding Fathers. Eleven years later, during the Constitutional Convention, the delegates created and signed the United States Constitution.

Day 8 – Day trip to Lancaster, PA

Today, travel to Amish country in Lancaster, PA.  Start with a guided walking tour of downtown Lancaster with free time at Central Market.  Designated as a market town in 1730, the City of Lancaster is home to Lancaster Central Market, the oldest, continuously running public farmers’ market in the country. This afternoon will be spent at an Amish farm. Day 9 – Day trip to Lancaster, PA

A tour to Philadelphia wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the Philadelphia Museum of Art & the famous Rocky Statue & Steps.  The museum’s landmark building houses one of the most remarkable collections in the country, featuring some of the greatest works of American, Asia, and European art anywhere. You’ll find van Gogh's Sunflowers, the world’s largest Marcel Duchamp, and the only dedicated Rodin Museum outside France. The 72 steps were made famous in the 1976 original Rocky movie. The statue is currently situated at the bottom of the steps.  Next, it’s off to explore the historic Italian Market which spans 10 city blocks and features food vendors & a visitor center.

Day 10 – Philadelphia

Your morning is free to explore other sites such as Betsy Ross’ House or the National Constitution Center all within walking distance of our hotel.  Your first stop this afternoon will be a guided tour of The Masonic Temple.  A National Historic Landmark in the heart of Philadelphia, the Masonic Temple features a Norman-style exterior which ushers visitors inside where stylistic references to the Middle Ages give way to a fantasy of Renaissance-inspired neoclassicism in the corridors and stairs and to 19th Century “eclectic revivalism” in the lodge rooms.  The next stop is definitely very different from the attractions you have taken in so far. It's a guided tour of Eastern State Penitentary which was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world.  Its vaulted, sky-lit cells once held many of America's most notorious lawbreakers, including "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone. This evening, join your newfound friends, Tour Director and Bus Driver for a WestWorld Tours Farewell Dinner.

Day 11 – Fly Home

Today transfer to the airport for your flights home.
